This delicious Avocado Rose With Seasoned Tomatoes is an ideal side dish to enhance any dinner party or a casual Sunday Brunch!
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 Avocado
1 Box of small plum tomatoes
1 Lemon
Chives, olive oil and salt and pepper to taste
- Cut avocado in half and peel off the skin. Lay one half of the avocado, cut side down, and slice the avocado very thin and even.
- Fan out avocado slices so that they form a long line with the slices overlapping each other. Starting from one end, curl avocado slices toward the center. Continue curling the avocado slices until you get a rose.
- Cut tomatoes in half and sprinkle with olive oil, finely chopped chives, salt and pepper to taste.
Important tips:
Make sure the avocado ins’t too ripe: Ripe and soft avocados are great for guacamole but not these roses. The avocado just doesn’t slice as cleanly when it’s too ripe, and you’ll end up with a mushy mess when you try to curl the avocado slices into a rose. Be sure to pick a ripe avocado that’s a bit more on the firmer side.
Sprinkle lemon juice to keep avocado from changing color: In order to avoid the avocado to change its color, sprinkle a bit of lemon juice on it to prevent it.
