Here’s How Single Moms Do It All

In a world that seems increasingly to be ruled by the idea of “doing it all,” for single mothers, this can mean doing everything from holding down a high-powered job as well as taking care of children and many other responsibilities.

How do single moms do it all? The answer is – not easy, and they do so with great effort and determination throughout their day.

There are endless demands on a mother’s time and energy: Whether you work outside the home or not, there is no way to escape what feels like nonstop responsibility. It seems that every hour brings new crises; no sooner do kids get dropped off at school than someone needs lunch money or homework help; once they come home, there are activities to attend, friends to meet, and, of course, do.

So, how do single mothers do it all?

Do you do it all? Single moms do it all! How do single moms do it all? There is no good answer, but there are ways to make things easier on yourself.

When raising children by yourself, there is no time for self-care. Everything has to be done last minute because you do not have someone to help you around the house or with the kids after work.

Even though this may seem like near-impossible tasks, there are some tips that will help you out when trying to do everything in a day.

  1. As soon as you wake up, take a nice long shower and pamper yourself before your day starts. Do not just hop into the shower without washing your hair or shaving your legs or armpits. This will make you more productive throughout the day, and do not skip a step, do everything in your daily routine.
  2. Make sure to pack healthy snacks for yourself that do not spoil quickly. Things like granola bars or trail mix are ideal because they keep for a few days before going bad and do not take up much space in your bag. If you do not have time to eat lunch at work, eating these snacks will power you through until dinner is ready.
  3. Instead of heading out on a date night with friends or your significant other once a week, try going out every other week so you still get time away from your kids. But do it less often while giving yourself some quality me-time while still being able to do everything else while still being a single mom.
  4. When picking up your child from daycare, do not stress yourself out by doing everything all at once, do the most important things first, then pick them up. Ensure that you do not leave dirty dishes or clothes on the floor because that will stress you out even more since now you have to do them after taking care of your child without anyone’s help.

Doing everything can be difficult, but do not try doing it all at once because you will feel overwhelmed if done too quickly and stressed out if you do not get everything done in time.

So make sure to do your tasks one by one with some downtime for yourself until they are all taken care of before heading home to relax with your children.
