Why Do Single Moms Stay Single?

It is always a common thing to find families being runed by both parents. In such a case, the parenting roles are being shared in some agreed proportions. However, single parenting also is not something that is new to us. Such parents decide to provide for their families without requiring someone to assist. In some cases, you might find a single mom who for one reason or another, decides to move on in life without a husband. Such a mom might have been at time in a relationship then decided to quit the journey and begin a new life or had all along been single but having own kids. Therefore, the idea of single moms to stay single might be influential or by choice. 

REASONS FOR A SINGLE MOM TO STAY SINGLE.

A mom can decide to stay single following a disappointment or heartbreak in a past relationship. Healing a heartbreak isn’t something that is easy. As a result, a mom can develop some negative implications towards relationships of any kind and might decide to call for a divorce and go single. In such situations, a mom adjusts herself to comfortably run the family without any external support. In addition, a mom can get disappointed during the journey to entering a relationship. If this happens especially at the dating stage, the mom might be picky and judgmental on men. She might have a perception that finding a decent man is not possible.

The second reason that might force single mothers to stay single is due to the fact that the moms might be comfortable with the single life. There are so many pressures that are associated with being in a relationship and a mom can decide to avoid such situations. This means that the mom becomes single simply by choice. A mom might get kids with someone but will not proceed to get married to the man owing to the fact that she is comfortable alone without the guy. Perhaps what the mom wanted was just kids from the guy and nothing more. After achieving her missions, the mom terminates the bondage with the man and remains single forever.

The fear for competition can lead to a single mom to choose to stay single. This follows especially when a mom realizes that someone is getting interested to a guy that she had intended to have him in her life. With the fear to compete, the mom might decide to quit the race and stay single without even finding an alternative to replace the taken guy. Age in this respect might contribute to the fear to compete. A mom might have the perception that her time has passed and she can’t compete favorably with others who are young to find a man. Finally, the mom decides to stay single comfortably. 

Another cause that might make a single mom to stay single is death to the husband. At times death might sneak into a relationship and take away a husband leaving a mom single. Getting someone to fill the gap left by the dad might be difficult to the mom. This might even be propelled by the fact that the mom’s age might not call for a replacement to be done anymore. The mother therefore can decide to proceed with the remaining part of the journey being single. 

Some moms enter a relationship with the need of getting financial assistance from someone. However, this might be different for those moms who are financially stable. They might choose to stay single since they can manage to provide for their kids by themselves. Some might perhaps operate businesses that might be keeping them busy to the fact that they don’t see the need of having someone in their lives. Such single moms shall decide to stay single so that no one interferes with their lives or businesses in one way or another. 

CONCLUSION.

Researches that have been conducted indicates that moms decide to stay single for so many reasons. Such moms proceed in life without a turnback or regrets. They work hard in their single life to achieve their dreams and yes most of them do. For s single mom, the “yes I can” perception is more than anything. ❤️
